Face Your Phobia, One Step at a Time

Shrink the fear before you have to face it.

A short intake, then a personalized guided audio series that builds your own fear hierarchy and rehearses calmer responses using the technique matched to how your fear actually shows up — panic, faintness, or freeze.

Sound familiar?

You're not imagining it.

  • A flight, procedure, or event is coming up and the dread is already taking over your week.
  • You avoid things other people don't think twice about — dogs on the sidewalk, bridges, elevators, blood draws — and it's starting to cost you.
  • You know the fear is 'irrational' and that doesn't make it go away.
  • Generic relaxation apps don't touch the specific thing you're actually afraid of.
  • You've fainted or come close to it around needles or blood, and that's its own layer of fear on top of the fear.

How it works

A few quiet steps.

01

Answer a short set of adaptive questions about your specific fear, how bad it gets, and how your body reacts — panic, faintness, or freeze.

02

We build a personal fear hierarchy — the ladder of situations from mildly uncomfortable to most feared — and flag anything that needs a different approach (like fainting risk with needles).

03

You get a guided audio session using the technique matched to your phobia type, your physical response pattern, and how much time you have before you need to face it for real.

04

A 4-session arc moves from building your hierarchy, to desensitizing the fear step by step in imagination, to rehearsing yourself coping well, to consolidating and bridging into a real-world plan.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Is this a replacement for exposure therapy?

No. In-person, real-world (in-vivo) exposure therapy with a trained clinician is the strongest, best-evidenced treatment for specific phobias. This app delivers what audio can realistically do — imaginal exposure, systematic desensitization, and mental rehearsal — which is a legitimate, evidence-supported piece of the picture, but it is not a substitute for facing the real thing with professional guidance when that's what you need.

I've fainted around needles or blood before — is this safe for me?

This is common and has a physical explanation (a vasovagal drop in blood pressure, not just 'being scared'). We ask about this directly in intake, and if you have a fainting history, your sessions use applied tension — a specific muscle-tensing technique that raises blood pressure and prevents fainting — rather than relaxation alone, which can make fainting more likely for this specific phobia type. We'll also suggest telling your nurse or phlebotomist so you can tense your muscles or lie down during the actual procedure.

My fear started after a specific bad experience (a dog bite, bad turbulence, a car accident) — will the sessions make me relive it?

No. If a phobia has a clear traumatic origin, sessions are rehearsal-only — we never ask you to revisit or narrate the original event in detail. The audio focuses forward: building your hierarchy and rehearsing calmer, more capable responses to future situations, not reprocessing the past event.

What if my fear is more about panic attacks in general than one specific thing?

This pack is built for a specific, identifiable trigger (flying, needles, dogs, heights, driving, enclosed spaces). If your anxiety is more about unpredictable panic attacks across many situations, or fear of the panic attacks themselves, that's panic disorder territory and is better served by our general anxiety pack and a conversation with a clinician — we'll flag this during intake.

Do I need to have a flight or appointment booked to use this?

No, but it helps us pace the series. If you have a real deadline coming up, we compress the hierarchy-building and prioritize rehearsal of that specific situation. If there's no deadline, we move at a steadier pace building your hierarchy from the ground up.

How long are sessions and how often should I listen?

Sessions default to about 10 minutes. If you have an upcoming deadline (a flight, a procedure), daily listening in the days beforehand is most effective; otherwise 3-4 times a week across the 4-part series works well.
