Sound familiar?

You're not imagining it.

  • Mornings are a battle because of stomachaches, tears, or refusal to go to school or leave the house.
  • Your child can't be away from you — drop-offs, sleepovers, or even another room in the house — without real distress.
  • Worries snowball into 'what ifs' that spiral and won't stop, especially at bedtime or in quiet moments.
  • You've started doing things you know aren't ideal (staying until they fall asleep, avoiding the thing that scares them, answering the same reassurance question ten times) because it's the only way to get through the day.
  • You want to help them build real coping skills, not just get through today's meltdown.

How it works

A few quiet steps.

01

Answer a few warm, specific questions about what your child worries about, when it shows up, and how their body reacts (takes about 5 minutes).

02

We build a short, calming audio session personalized to your child — their specific worry addressed gently, their own calming imagery woven in.

03

Play it during a calm moment (not mid-meltdown) — after school, before a known trigger, or as part of a wind-down routine.

04

Sessions build across a short series: calm the body first, then gently work with the worry itself, then practice a small brave step.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Is this a substitute for medical or psychological care?

No. Mindmosis is a relaxation and coping-skills tool, not a diagnosis, treatment, or substitute for a pediatrician, child psychologist, or therapist. If your child's worry is severe, involves panic, rituals, trauma, or thoughts of self-harm, please see a qualified professional first — this app is not equipped to treat those and will recommend you seek that care.

What age range is this for?

Sessions are written for children roughly ages 4-12, with language, pacing, and imagery adapted to the age you tell us.

My child has separation anxiety and can't be away from me. Can this help?

Yes — the intake asks specifically about separation situations (drop-offs, sleepovers, another room) and builds sessions using worry-externalization and a 'piece of home' anchor image your child can carry with them, adapted from approaches used in child anxiety treatment.

Is this the same as therapy, like Coping Cat or CBT?

No. It's inspired by well-established ideas from child CBT (like naming feelings, noticing body signals, and gentle bravery practice) but delivered as calming audio, not structured therapy with a clinician. For a diagnosed anxiety disorder, working CBT with a licensed child therapist has the strongest evidence and this app is best used alongside that, not instead of it.

Is hypnosis or guided imagery safe for anxious children?

These are guided relaxation and imagery sessions, similar in spirit to a calming story with a gentle structure. They use permissive, everyday language — no content that resembles clinical trance work with vulnerable groups, and nothing meant to replace exposure therapy or medication when those are needed.

What if my child's anxiety seems more serious — panic, rituals, or something happened to them?

The intake screens for red flags like panic-level distress, OCD-like rituals or intrusive thoughts, trauma history, and any talk of self-harm, and will recommend a qualified professional instead of, or alongside, using the app. Sessions won't proceed with technique content that isn't appropriate for those situations.
