Sound familiar?
You're not imagining it.
- Your gut feels unpredictable — pain, bloating, or urgency that seems to arrive without warning.
- Stress, a stressful meal, or 'just knowing' you'll be somewhere without a bathroom seems to set things off.
- You've started mapping bathrooms wherever you go, or avoiding places and foods 'just in case.'
- Diet changes and medication help some, but the anxious anticipation around your gut hasn't budged.
- You've heard the gut and the brain are connected but don't know what to actually do with that.
How it works
A few quiet steps.
Answer a short set of adaptive questions about your diagnosis, your symptom pattern, your flare triggers, and what comfort and calm have felt like for you before.
We build a personal formulation — your triggers, your bathroom-anxiety patterns, your imagery preferences — not a generic script.
You get a guided audio session using gut-directed relaxation techniques, adapted to your specific pattern (pain-led, bloating-led, urgency-led, or alternating).
A 5-session arc moves from calming the gut-brain stress response, to building a felt sense of gut comfort, to rehearsing calm in situations that usually worry you, to a portable flare-coping anchor.
Questions
Frequently asked.
Will this treat or cure my IBS?
No. This is a relaxation and comfort-focused audio tool, not a medical treatment. It does not treat, cure, or reduce the symptoms of any diagnosed digestive disease. It's designed to sit alongside the medical care and diagnosis you already have — a way to support calm and reduce stress-related discomfort, not to replace your doctor, dietitian, or gastroenterologist.
Do I need a diagnosis before using this?
Yes. This pack is built for people who have already been evaluated by a doctor and told their symptoms fit a functional condition like IBS. If you haven't been diagnosed yet, or you're noticing new or worsening symptoms, please see a doctor first — some digestive symptoms need medical evaluation before any relaxation tool is appropriate.
I've had rectal bleeding, unexplained weight loss, or other symptoms I haven't mentioned to a doctor — is that okay?
No — please see a doctor promptly if you notice rectal bleeding, unintentional weight loss, fevers, symptoms that wake you from sleep, or a family history of bowel disease or colon cancer that hasn't been discussed with a clinician. We'll ask about this directly during intake and pause if anything needs medical attention first.
What's the evidence behind this kind of approach?
Gut-directed hypnotherapy — the clinical approach these sessions are modeled on — has some of the strongest research support of any psychological approach to IBS, with studies going back to the 1980s and a place in national clinical guidelines for IBS that hasn't responded to first-line treatment. That evidence comes from structured, often in-person or clinician-guided courses of treatment. This app offers a self-guided, audio-only, comfort-and-relaxation adaptation of those ideas — it is not the clinical protocol itself and cannot promise the same results.
I'm avoiding a lot of foods and it's starting to worry me — is that something to bring up?
Yes, definitely mention it during intake. Some food avoidance is a normal response to a gut that's been unpredictable, but when avoidance grows to cover many foods, causes weight loss, or makes eating stressful and isolating, that can shade into a separate feeding/eating concern that deserves its own support — we'll flag this gently and point you toward a dietitian or clinician rather than encouraging more restriction.
How long are sessions and how often should I listen?
Sessions default to about 10 minutes. Most people benefit from a consistent daily listening window — many people choose a calm moment away from mealtimes — across the 5-session series.
