Sound familiar?
You're not imagining it.
- The closer your due date gets, the more your mind circles back to what could go wrong.
- You've heard labor is 'mind over matter' but nobody's shown you how to actually get your mind ready.
- Birth classes cover logistics and positions, but not what to do with fear when a surge hits.
- A friend's difficult birth story, or your own last time, keeps replaying in the back of your mind.
- You want to feel like an active, confident participant in your birth, not a passenger.
How it works
A few quiet steps.
Answer a short set of adaptive questions about your due date and care setup, your birth history, your specific fears, and what calm and confidence have felt like for you before.
We build a personal preparation profile — your fear profile, your birth preferences energy, your imagery preferences — not a generic hypnobirthing script.
You get a guided audio session using the technique best matched to your fear profile and birth history, building real conditioned relaxation with repeated practice.
A 5-session series builds from calming fear itself, to a portable breathing anchor, to deep conditioned relaxation, to body-trust confidence, to a flexible birth-day rehearsal — ideally starting around 30 weeks so the practice has time to condition.
Questions
Frequently asked.
Will this make my labor pain-free?
No — we won't promise that, and no responsible birth-prep tool can. What this builds is real relaxation skill, a calmer nervous system, and more confidence facing labor, which research shows can genuinely change how manageable and positive the experience feels. Pain relief decisions (including whether to use an epidural or other interventions) are entirely yours to make with your care team — this app stays neutral on that choice.
Is this a substitute for antenatal classes or my OB/midwife's advice?
No. This is a relaxation and confidence-building audio tool that sits alongside your medical care and any childbirth education you're doing — not instead of it. Your care team makes the medical calls; this app never advises on medical decisions like pain relief, induction, or interventions.
I'm considered high-risk — can I still use this?
Yes, with an adjustment. We'll ask about this in intake, and if your pregnancy is high-risk, sessions shift to general relaxation and calm only — nothing that assumes a specific birth plan or outcome — and we'll remind you to defer all birth-planning decisions to your provider.
My last birth was traumatic — is this safe for me?
We ask about this directly in intake. If a prior birth was traumatic, sessions stay in stabilization mode — calm, grounding, present-moment relaxation — and we won't ask you to revisit or replay what happened. We'll also suggest a referral note for birth-trauma-focused therapy, since that kind of processing needs a trained clinician, not audio alone.
Does hypnobirthing actually work?
The honest answer is mixed but genuinely useful: research (including a Cochrane review) shows hypnosis-based preparation doesn't reliably reduce epidural use or guarantee an easier physical labor, but it does show real, consistent benefit for anxiety, sense of control, and how positively people rate their birth experience — which matters.
What if I notice new symptoms in late pregnancy while using this?
Stop and contact your midwife or OB promptly — this app is not a monitoring tool. Reduced fetal movement, bleeding, severe headache, vision changes, sudden swelling, fluid loss, or any symptom that worries you should always go to your care team first, any time of day.
