Sound familiar?
You're not imagining it.
- You don't think you have 'a problem' exactly, but you're drinking more nights than you'd like, or more than you plan to once you start.
- The after-work pour, the second glass at dinner, the 'just to relax' drink — it's become automatic, not really a choice anymore.
- You've tried counting drinks or 'just having two' and it quietly slides back within a week or two.
- You don't want to become a different person or give up wine with dinner forever — you want to take it or leave it, and mean it.
- Most quit-drinking content assumes you need to stop completely; that's not where you are, and it doesn't fit your life.
How it works
A few quiet steps.
Answer a short set of adaptive questions about your actual drinking pattern, the situations and feelings that call for a drink, and what you're hoping changes.
We build a personal formulation — your ritual map (after-work, social, boredom, sleep-aid), what drinking is doing FOR you right now, and where past moderation attempts have slipped.
You get a guided audio session using the technique best matched to your main driver — social pressure, stress relief, habit/ritual, or using alcohol to wind down for sleep.
A 4-part arc moves from noticing the automatic pull, to building a felt sense of 'take it or leave it,' to installing real replacement rituals, to locking in your specific goals (fewer drinks, more drink-free days, or staying moderate in named situations).
Questions
Frequently asked.
Is this a treatment for alcoholism or alcohol use disorder?
No. This tool is built for moderation and mindful drinking — people who want to cut back, add drink-free days, or stay in control in specific situations, not people who need to stop drinking entirely for medical reasons. During intake we screen for signs of physical dependence (like morning drinking or withdrawal symptoms). If those show up, we'll tell you plainly and point you toward medical care instead of continuing — stopping alcohol suddenly can be medically dangerous for someone physically dependent on it, and that's not something an audio app can safely manage.
How do I know if moderation is realistic for me, or if I need something more?
The intake asks directly about withdrawal signs, morning drinking, and past attempts to cut down that didn't go well physically — these are the clearest signals that professional support is the safer path. If none of that applies and you're mainly dealing with an automatic habit, stress relief that's gone a bit too far, or social pressure, moderation-focused work like this is a reasonable, evidence-informed place to start.
Do I have to aim for total abstinence to use this?
No — that's the point. You can set your own goal: fewer drinks per sitting, more drink-free days per week, staying moderate at specific events, or a period of not drinking at all if that's what you want. The sessions adapt to your stated goal rather than assuming one path is right.
What if most of my drinking is about unwinding from real stress, grief, or something hard I'm going through?
That's common, and we ask about it directly. If drinking is mainly a way of coping with something heavier — trauma, depression, a loss — we'll flag that gently and suggest pairing this with real support (therapy, a doctor) rather than treating an audio session as enough on its own. We still want to help with the drinking pattern itself, alongside that support, not instead of it.
Will this work if I've tried to cut back before and it didn't stick?
The intake specifically asks what happened last time — a stressful week, a specific social situation, drinking creeping back in slowly — and the session is built around that failure point rather than repeating generic advice to 'just drink less.'
How long are sessions and how does the 4-part series work?
Sessions default to about 15 minutes. The series is designed to be used across roughly one to two weeks, one part at a time, though you can relisten to any part as often as it helps.
